Military Separation and Retirement Exams
Devine Family Care Practice is committed to providing thorough, efficient, and timely exams to ensure a smooth process for our patients. We prioritize delivering quality care in a prompt manner, supporting your health and well-being every step of the way.
At Devine Family Care Practice, we understand that transitioning out of active duty can be a challenging process for service members. Our Military Separation and Retirement Exam is a comprehensive medical evaluation designed to support service members as they move from active duty to civilian life, whether through separation or retirement. Also known as the Separation Health Assessment (SHA) or Retirement Health Assessment (RHA), this exam is essential to assess the overall health of the service member, identify any service-related conditions, and ensure appropriate ongoing care.
Key components of the exam include:
1) Medical History Review – A detailed review of the service member’s medical history,
with a focus on injuries or conditions sustained during military service.
2) Physical Examination – A thorough physical exam to evaluate overall health and detect
any medical issues potentially related to military service.
3) Screening for Service-Related Conditions – Assessment for conditions such as hearing
loss, musculoskeletal injuries, or mental health concerns, including PTSD.
4) Mental Health Assessment – We provide screening for mental health issues such as
PTSD, depression, or anxiety, which may have developed during military service.
5) Documentation for Veterans’ Benefits – The exam includes the necessary
documentation to support eligibility for veterans’ benefits, including health care,
disability compensation, and other services through the Department of Veterans Affairs
(VA).
At Devine Family Care Practice, we are committed to ensuring that every service member receives the care and support they deserve during this important transition. Our goal is to provide the comprehensive medical evaluation needed to facilitate a smooth and healthy shift to civilian life.
